GREEK OCTOPUS RECIPE

Ingredients

Ingredients for 4 servings:

14oz (400g) el Rey del Pulpo precooked octopus
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tbs vinegar
1 tbs fresh or dried oregano
Minced red chili pepper
Parsley
Salt and black pepper
1 lemon (to serve and use as garnish)

DIRECTIONS

  • Take the package of el Rey del Pulpo precooked octopus out of the refrigerator and open it. You can use whole tentacles as they are or slice them into smaller pieces.
  • In a bowl or dish, mix the extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, vinegar, minced oregano, and red chili pepper together, and then add the octopus. Soak the tentacles well on all sides and let marinate for at least 1 hour.
  • The octopus can be left to marinate overnight in the refrigerator. The marinade will keep it fresh and the octopus will soak in more flavor with time.
  • Once this time has passed, heat the grill to high, drain the octopus and brown.
  • Sear it until it gets a nice golden-brown color on all sides.
  • To finish, transfer to a plate and drizzle with some good extra virgin olive oil and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Serve with a slice of lemon and sprinkle with plenty of minced fresh parsley.
