Salads are one of our favorite dishes to prepare in summer because they are really fresh and perfect for any meal. You can use them either as a main dish or as a side dish… They are super versatile!

Another of the great things about salads is that you can prepare them in advance, even the day before, and keep them in the fridge and take them with you whenever you need in a food container or in any hermetically sealed jar that you have around the house. With this recipe, you have a very healthy dish ready to take to the beach, to the office, to a picnic, etc. We share with you this idea and you choose where to enjoy a delicious avocado and octopus salad!

Ingredients for two people:

1 tray of half cooked octopus from el Rey del Pulpo

250 g cherry tomatoes


1 red onion

2 avocados

1 lime

Cilantro or parsley to taste

Black pepper


Virgin Olive Oil


  •  The first thing we will do to prepare our avocado salad with octopus is to prepare the cooked octopus. We remove it from the tray, and as we are going to serve it cold, it is important to remove the gelatin. To do this, we can leave it for a while at room temperature or wash it under the tap.

  • The second step is to cut the octopus into slices, neither too thin nor too thick, about 2 mm approximately. Add it in a bowl and season it with salt and pepper. Set aside.

  • Next, we are going to cut into small pieces the rest of the vegetables: the red onion, the cherry tomatoes (they can be of another kind if you like them better or if you already had them at home) and the lettuce. Add everything in a bowl of your choice to prepare the salad.

  • Finally, peel the avocados, cut them into small dices and mix them in the bowl with the vegetables.

  •  Once we have all the ingredients mixed in the bowl, add the extra virgin olive oil, a squeeze of lime and a little parsley or cilantro, depending on the ingredient you like best to prepare this delicious avocado and octopus salad.

  • Finally, just stir everything well and enjoy this delicious salad.


As we have already said, this is a very versatile recipe. It can be a great appetizer for the summer if you add an extra with a presentation that gives it a unique style: individual cups, or nice glasses can help you in this task.

You can add more ingredients to this avocado and octopus salad. For example, you can add cucumber if you want to freshen it up or mussels if you like an intense taste of the sea. You can even add a dressing you like instead of parsley or cilantro.
